What caption and hashtags should I use?
Write a caption that repeats the point of the video instead of setting it up, and keep hashtags to a handful that genuinely describe the post. Describe your post in one line below and you'll get a caption plus a hashtag set for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Heyclift, stored, or used to ask you for an email.
How the caption and hashtag writer works
- 1.You write one line describing what happens in the post, plus the product, the audience and what you want people to do.
- 2.The caption is assembled per platform, because a caption is read at a different moment on each one.
- 3.Hashtags come from the meaningful words in your own description, plus a small brand set — never a block of thirty.
- 4.It all runs on your device. There is no request to a server anywhere in this page.
What it won't do
It can't judge whether your post is worth captioning, and it won't invent trending tags — a tag that's trending today is stale by the time you post, and chasing them is how accounts end up with reach and no customers. Read the caption out loud and cut whatever sounds like marketing.
Questions about this tool
What caption and hashtags should I use?+
Use a caption that repeats the point of the video rather than setting it up, and three to seven hashtags that describe what the post is actually about. Thirty tags reads as spam to people and adds nothing on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube.
How many hashtags is too many?+
Past about seven you're no longer describing the post, you're hoping. This tool caps each platform deliberately: fewer on TikTok and Shorts, a slightly longer set on Instagram.
Why is the caption different per platform?+
Captions are read at different moments. On TikTok it's read after the video has already hooked someone, so it stays short. On Instagram there's room for one extra line. On Shorts the first sentence behaves a little like search, so the searchable words go first.
Is the caption and hashtag writer free?+
Yes, and there is no account, no email wall and no usage limit. It runs on your device, so it costs us nothing per use.
Do you store what I type?+
No. There is no server call in this tool at all. Reload the page and everything you entered is gone.
Can I use the output commercially?+
Yes. What you get out is yours to post, edit or ignore, with no credit required.
